Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Our stay at the hotel was good. When we arrived something had gone awry with our booking, but the staff very kindly fixed it for us and gave us an upgraded room with a nicer view. The room was great, very spacious and the toiletry products provided were very nice. We considered the hotel gym a nice bonus, although it offered limited equipment. The location of the hotel is good for visiting Casablanca, it's within walking distance of the Hassan II Mosque (although, do make sure you walk to the entrance at the museum, as it's the only place you can access the site from). Everywhere else is easily acessed by taxi, and Casablanca taxi drivers were some of the few throughout all of Morocco that rarely tried to scam us with tourist prices and just turned on their meters, despite us obviously being tourists. The hotel is on a pretty major road, we were always easily able to get a taxi, and the noise from the road never bothered us inside the hotel, as it's very well insulated.

Negative: Nothing was necessarily off about our stay, some things were a bit odd. Throughout our stay we only ever really saw staff members in the hotel, never any other guests. Only one of the elevators was properly in function, but this was never mentioned anywhere. The elevator would come to your floor, you would get in and after you pressed a button all lights in the elevator would turn off - a touch stressful the first time it happened. There was a rooftop bar with a very nice view, there was just never really anyone there or anyone working the bar. We took our own drinks and snacks up, it was a bit unclear whether we were supposed to, but the staff were never unkind about it, so we just went with it. We never took breakfast at the hotel as we found the pricing (15 euros) a bit high compared to other breakfast options in Morocco. Perhaps overall the hotel is more suited to travellers visiting for business purposes than for a holiday, but our stay was still good.
