Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Our stay at Riad Rita was fantastic. Thank you to the owner (Mehdi) and Bassou (the Manager) for taking great care of us and our son. We had the rooftop room with a private courtyard and our room and view was perfect. The steps to get there are a workout, but Bassou got our bags up there for us. The guesthouse is absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable within the walls of the old Medina. Breakfast was awesome and fresh. It is within walking distance to many of the major sites Meknes offers and a wonderful experience. Do not confuse this place with the more well advertised (Riad Ritaj) which is nearby. Riad Rita appears to be more new and does not have an exterior sign but I’m certain this will be remedied soon. Taxis cannot drive into the old Medina (it’s too narrow for cars) but can generally give you directions and Bassou is very responsive on WhatsApp to ensure your needs are met. Overall a wonderful experience and we greatly appreciate you taking care of us and being such fantastic hosts during a VERY busy music festival. Also, Mehdi owns a nearby artisan co-op and will ensure you will have access to the highest quality goods at the best prices.

Negative: It was a little bit hard to find due to no signage, but a nice gentleman in front of the Mosque helped us find it. The rooftop room may not be the best choice for older travelers or those with disabilities due to the challenging stairs, but our sons room on the second floor was modern, large and easy to access.
