Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Fatima and Ayoub were very friendly and helpful. The environment and breakfast were excellent. Access to the center was also good - less than 15-minute walk to the main square. The Riad is located next to a car park where taxis are always available and convenient for collection with tour companies.

Negative: The host never answered his call when we arrived at the airport at 2 pm. We got misled by the name of the Riad, which took us to another part of the Medina. The Riad name and address bring you to different locations. When we arrived at the Riad, almost 3 hours later, we were shown to a room with no door keys and were not spoken to until we requested to cancel the booking. There's no name on the Riad door except the number which corresponds to the address on booking.com. The "host" eventually got in contact later that evening and was quite rude through text message. He stated it was our issue we were unable to locate due to not booking an airport transfer through him, which was 2.5 times more expensive than what we booked through a reputable tour company, which advised us that it is a regular practice in Marrakech that they call the Riad so they could come to meet the driver at an agreed location when there is no direct road access outside. He said "he is not a host of a Riad" and that "this is a hotel." I think the name suggests otherwise! The television didn't always work; water flowing out of the bathroom was languid throughout the stay, and the bathroom floor would flood after a short time in the shower.
