Positive: Mary and I had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Pressoir de la Mare! The property was impeccably clean and very comfortable, we felt immediately at home. Our hosts, Sebastien was incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive; his hospitality and support when we misplaced the key went above and beyond, making our stay truly special. The location is ideal, a small quiet residential area with complete privacy with all practical conveniences nearby as the local shops and supermarkets are just a short drive away, making it easy to buy fresh produce and enjoy regional food. We delighted in tasting Normandy’s local specialties cheeses, cider and bread and cakes. Super U is less than 10 mins away for fresh bread and even open Sunday morning (Petrol station as well). Beyond comfort and food, what made our stay truly memorable was the proximity to history. We visited Pegasus Bridge and the Mémorial Pegasus, learning about the heroic airborne operation of 6 June 1944 and the pivotal role this bridge played in the Allied landings. We also explored other significant historic WWII‑era sites nearby, immersing ourselves in the powerful legacy of the D‑Day invasion which added real depth and meaning to our stay. Local beaches are about 15 mins away as well... though it was too cold for a swim. Staying at Pressoir de la Mare felt like the full Normandy experience: comfort, charm, local flavours. Mary and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Normandy, and we can’t wait to return - thank you Sebastien x
